I need a good water resistant watch?

Thursday, June 24th, 2010

I have had many watches in the past and I’m tired of getting them all water-logged, and all fogged up!
Now I am thinking of either the
Timex Men’s Expedition Adventure Tech Digital Compass Rubber Strap Watch #T42681
or the
Timex Men’s T5J641 Ironman Solar Power SHOCK Resin Strap Watch

One is resistant to 660 feet, and one is resistent to 330 feet. I don’t know whether the 330 one will suit me or should I go with the 660 just to be safe? I kind of like the compass feature in the Expedition watch. How easily will a 330 feet watch get broken? I don’t want to be swimming slowly and carefully just so my watch doesn’t fill with water. Help, I need opinions!!

Most Casio watches are water resistant for at least 100-300 feet. You need to insure that you can push all the function buttons without the watch leaking. You can usually do this with most water resistant watches. You don’t need to worry about either 330 or 660 foot resistant watches unless you are going to test them at depth.

If you are swimming or snorkeling, you will not need a watch that is rated 10 or 20 ATM (atmosphere or 14.7 psi). In most cases you will not get any deeper than 1 ATM in depth.
